quenum has released over sixty records in 10 years of music making, with a new album “as told on the eve of…” now out on glasgow’s soma quality recordings and singles on labels such as trapez in cologne, alphahouse (usa), toys for boys(belgium) or plak in switzerland, where quenum resides with his family. quenum very much enjoys collaborations with other producers and was the cofounder of cadenza records, one of the most forward-thinking electronic music labels of the 21st century. and most recently, of num records & num ltd : new imprints who have already established themselves, dedicated to supporting new talents. a pioneer of the dj trade in the swiss/french area since the early eighties, quenum has also lived in london for a decade, working with -among others- producer paulo nascimento as access 58, to release music on pacific or music man records. from there he djed and played live in british and european clubs, as well as in the united states. his roots a mix of africa with the french antilles, quenum acknowledges strong afro-caribbean, soul, funk and hip hop influences on his organic & eclectic dancefloor sound with ever-switching loops and grooves, warm bass and unlimited sonic surprises. a very supportive international music press is always on the lookout for quenum’s productions. visit quenum's official website at www.phil-quenum.com phil quenum, der mit seiner familie in genf lebt, hat es in den letzten 10 jahren auf über 60 veröffentlichungen unter verschiedenen namen gebracht. eine ganze dekade lebte er mit seiner familie in london wo er unter anderem mit paulo nascimento arbeitete und musik aud labels wie access58, pacific und music man veröffentlichte. schon zu dieser zeit spielte er in clubs in uk, dem rest europas und dne vereinigten statten. seine wurzeln liegen in afrika und den französischen antillen – in seinen organisch und eklektischen produktionen, mit ständig verändernden loops und grooves, warmen bässen und unzähligen, blitzartigen überraschungen, verbindet er soul, funk, hip hop und starke afro-karibische einflüsse. |
